Studies conducted by Larissa Ledochowski of the University of Innsbruck in Austria trying to see the impact of exercise on a treadmill with the desire to eat sweet foods. He did the experiment on 47 people with obesity were an average of over 28 years.
To increase the desire to eat, the researchers asked participants to not eat sweet food three days before the study began. The participants were also forbidden to drink sweet drinks and only allowed to drink water only. Afterwards the participants were divided into two groups, one group was asked to climb the treadmill and other groups were only asked quietly for 15 minutes.
15 minutes passed participants were then given a sweet candy to grip and given a question about the desire to eat while researchers measured levels of stress. In the exercise group, the researchers reported stress levels and desire to eat were lower compared to those without.
“This study shows that a short walk can be used as a strategy to reduce the momentary desire to eat,” said Adrian Meule, Ruhr University Bochum psychologist from Germany who was not involved in the study, as quoted by Reuters on Tuesday (04/07/2015).
